Contract: Apprentice, Fixed-Term

Delivering environmental services that make the difference.

Every day, 210,000 vehicles travel across the 31,000km of roads, bridges and tunnels that are built, maintained and operated by the team here at Kier Group. It’s one of the reasons why we’re acknowledged as the UK’s No.1 Highways Services team - delivering £1 billion of social value to the six million people and wider communities who rely on our expertise and experience. Can you join our team? Yes, you can - if you want to be valued for who you are as well as what you do, in a company shaping the future.

Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone with a real passion for the environment – You’ll be responsible for assisting the environmental team with monitoring and analysing energy, water and waste usage across depots as well as identifying methods to support these. You’ll take part in environmental impact assessment and collect data for Kier Highways and Highways England. At the same time, you will also study for a Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician qualification with support from our experienced teams – giving you the practical skills and expertise to excel in your career.

What do we need from you?

However, alongside our values there are a few key behaviours that are desirable for this role, and as part of any selection assessment process you may be expected to show us how you demonstrate these behaviours including: willingness to learn, self-motivated, organised, punctual, trustworthy, committed and hard-working.

What will you receive?

You can expect a competitive salary and an outstanding package that includes a matched pension scheme up to 7.5%, 26 days’ annual leave + bank holidays (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday) together with two employee Share Scheme options (Sharesave and Share Incentive Plan).
