Band 6 Practice Development Lead - for Apprentices, Fixed term for 2 years

An exciting vacancy has arisen within the newly formed Practice Development Team to support the practice development lead for apprentices across North Cumbria.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of staff comprising Practice Development Leads for Clinical skills, Apprenticeships and Preceptorship, Practice Education Facilitators, Clinical Skills Facilitators, Clinical Educators and Administrative staff. The Practice Development team support staff and learners in developing the essential skills required in practice.

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated registered professional who is passionate about education to join the Trust as an Assistant to our Practice Development Lead - Apprentices. The post holder will be key in supporting nursing apprenticeships and the QCF Diploma in Health and Social care across the Trust.

We expect you to have a clear commitment to education and possess excellent leadership, communication, change management and organisational skills and have the ability to inspire and enthuse all grades of staff.

You must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and be willing to go that extra mile to enhance the learning culture for our staff.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:
  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
