About the apprenticeship


Responsibilities will vary throughout the placement as our client base develops and the work we undertake for different clients changes.
As a result, your responsibilities could differ greatly from client to client, but as a baseline the following are some of the responsibilities you'll undertake:
• Financial planning
• Bid preparation
• Project support
• Presentation development and delivery
• Workshop support and facilitation
• Client engagement
• Social media management
• Website management
• Marketing
• Research
• Data analysis

Additional information

This role will work across our business, supporting the day to day running of Perago as well as working with our clients; providing analysis and advice, supporting their digital delivery and building their capability through training, coaching. As a digital apprentice, you will be involved in all aspects of our work, from meeting face to face with clients, supporting with research, working on communications and working as part of bigger groups to come up with ideas of how to make things better. You won't be alone though. You'll be supported by each of the broader team, some experts in user centered design, project management, technology and coding & communications - so there is great opportunity to learn. As you learn about digital and gain experience in a real working environment,

Welsh Language skills are desirable but not required.



About you… We're looking for someone to join our team that is excited to learn, interested in technology and digital, enjoys seeing their effort make a difference - but as part of a small team, you'll always be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. We use Microsoft Office for most of our work, so having basic experience of this is expected. But we're also keen to hear if you have experience in other tools too!.


Minimim GCSE in Maths and English, along with A level or equivalent

Why an apprenticeship?

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
