The NHS is looking to recruit Covid-19 and Flu Registered Health Care Professionals to support the delivery of the Covid-19 and Flu vaccines at the CIC or WCH sites.

The recent Department for Health and Social Care consultation on temporary changes to legislation we can allow a wider group of staff to vaccinate with appropriate training.

As a COVID-19 and Flu Clinical Supervisor you be responsible for:

Overseeing and supporting a team of Band 5 Immunisers

Supervising clinical assessments of patients prior to vaccination.

Supporting the reviews of complex medical histories, any potential adverse reactions and offering specialist advice as needed.

Ensuring the vaccination station, from the set up of the hub, to running the hub and, complying with relevant procedures

Clinical supervision of safe immunisations.

You will be supervising the drawing up and preparation of the vaccine before administration and ensuring that each vaccine activity is recorded.

Delivery of the safe immunisation service and assisting any agreed changes needed within the setting and service areas.

Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to policies, procedures and PGD's

Essential Skills

Current Registration with the HCPC or NMC

Current immunisation training up to date or wiliness to undertake further training

Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:
  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
