We’re the UK’s 2nd largest fresh food manufacturer with 18 sites across the UK.

On this programme, you’ll help us provide top quality food and the freshest produce for our customers, from flowers, fish and veg to burgers and bread, as we continue feeding the nation during the coronavirus pandemic. You’ll gain hands-on experience in our manufacturing business from day one, working alongside our skilled colleagues in all areas of our fast paced manufacturing sites.

We’re unique in the way we source and make most of our fresh food ourselves. Our different manufacturing capabilities make us stand out in the world of retail.

During our 3-year programme you’ll help us to drive efficiencies, develop your leadership skills, work on exciting live projects and help us to simplify and improve our manufacturing processes.

What you’ll do

  • Gain wide-ranging experience within a variety of manufacturing teams across the site covering a variety of shift patterns
  • Learn about different manufacturing equipment, processes and technologies
  • Learn how to run production lines and lead production teams
  • Provide support at our flowerworld manufacturing site at peak trading times for Valentines and Mother’s Day
  • Make an impact on exciting live business projects
  • Gain early responsibility as a Team Manager, responsible for a team of colleagues and the production across your shifts
  • Progress to a Shift Manager in your final year, managing a larger team of colleagues and production
  • Some of our roles are shift based and may require early starts, late finishes and working weekends. You will also be required to work bank holidays and during peak times of the year.

What you'll study towards

  • Study towards a Bsc (Hons) Management and Business at the University of Bradford

What you’ll need

  • Resilience, determination and good leadership skills
  • Flexibility to meet the changing needs of our business
  • To have recently gained a minimum of 104 UCAS points
  • A minimum Level 4 in Maths and English GCSEs

Morrisons offers you the chance to be part of a different kind of retail business. Whether you’re a school leaver, student or graduate, our early careers give you a unique perspective, real responsibility and tons of valuable experience.

You see, unlike our competitors, we own most of our own supply chain. We’re both food makers and shopkeepers, home to diverse teams that create success together. That means you’ll find an amazing scope for learning here.

We’ve a real variety of paths to choose from, each giving you a brilliant head start. But wherever your journey takes you, you’ll find all the support you need to thrive in your career. Because together, we all make Morrisons.

Feeding the nation and doing the right thing for our customers and colleagues is what drives us at Morrisons.

A team of more than 120,000 people, we work in partnership with communities, suppliers and British farmers to provide great shopping experiences and fresh food from field to fork.

Join us, on our Degree Apprenticeship Programme and we can offer you an experience of retail that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

Created in partnership with the University of Bradford and Sheffield Hallam University, this unique programme gives you the chance to work, earn and learn while studying towards a degree AND preparing for a career in management. (No wonder we were awarded Best School Leaver/Apprenticeship Strategy at this year’s ISE Awards!)

There are a number of different schemes to choose from, including Manufacturing, Logistics, Corporate, Retail, and Food Technical. All of them are designed to help you unlock your potential by learning on the job, taking responsibility for people and projects, and working towards either a Chartered Management and Business Degree Apprenticeship, a Retail Leadership Degree Apprenticeship or a Food Industry Professional Degree Apprenticeship (we also offer a level 4 Finance apprenticeship).

Throughout the programme you’ll enjoy getting paid for doing a real role. We’ll also look after you with great perks, lots of career opportunities and the training and support you need to be the best you can be. Because together, we all make Morrisons.
