Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use V alue Based Interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significant difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a rheumatology specialist practitioner role.

We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our clinical team in the Rheumatology Department based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC), as a Rheumatology Specialist Practitioner, and develop their skills and knowledge in care for Rheumatology patients across an inpatient and outpatient setting. We seek to appoint a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our existing team.

The NOC Rheumatology department is one of the leading units in the areas of rheumatology and musculoskeletal research; we pride ourselves for the delivery of a first class clinical service to patients.

There are 2 posts available for 37.5 hours per week but part-time will also be considered. Home working will be available as part of this role as well as compressed hours.

Candidates must be able to work autonomously and make high level decisions relating to patient treatment and care. The individual will be expected to prioritise tasks and manage their own time. They will be expected to manage the rheumatology advice line service. The candidate will work as part of a team of advanced practitioners and medical staff. The posts would appeal to an enthusiastic, self-motivated practitioner who has excellent communication skills. You will need to have a proactive approach towards continuous professional development, and a passion to work in this rewarding specialty.

Rheumatology experience is preferred, however training and support will be provided.

It is essential that candidates read the job description carefully and reference their interest and appropriate skills in their application.
