• Providing well presented, accurate & timely quotations, cost plans and budgets • Providing budgets to PQS companies • Assisting architects with technical and design duties • Liaising with the Contracts Department and the Estimating Department • Working in the estimating office to assist with tender bids

Desired skills

System & Software Knowledge (but not essential): Technal, Seniors, SAPA. Training of system programmes will be provided. • Use of Logikal and Tech-Design estimating software (not essential, training will be provided in-house and with the System suppliers). • The successful candidate will be fully proficient in the use of Microsoft; Word, Outlook and Excel. • Time management skills • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (plans, elevations, sections) • Ability to plan and schedule work. • Must have a strong level of numeracy. • Customer service focus, both externally and internally

Desired qualifications

Individual employers will determine their own entry requirements, but the typical entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a Science; or a Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

For the right employee this role will lead to further employment with the company and will be the stepping stone for a career as an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
