As a media relations team apprentice you will be accountable to the Digital Media Manager and responsibilities will include:
  • Writing: Assist in the research and preparation for press releases, news stories and blogs
  • Social Media: Use analytics to discover what content works best on what channel, and create engaging content for our social media channels
  • Multimedia: Edit video and audio for use on our website and social media channels
  • Media liaison: Understand how the media operates in dealing with day-to-day from the media. Assist in creating media lists, monitoring press clippings, and sending / receiving press materials
  • Campaigns: Support the team in creating multimedia campaigns, working to deliver on the NICE 5-year strategy. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the campaigns and measuring their impact
  • Administration Support: Prepare and organise the weekly media diary and External Relations team meetings, book meeting rooms, take minutes and actions and keep spreadsheets up to date
  • Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research for the team and help to prepare monthly reporting statistics

You should have an awareness of the media landscape and be committed to continuous professional development.

Should have knowledge of word processing and digital platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and websites.

Desired qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C on previous grading system) including maths & English
  • 2 A Levels or equivalent A-Cincluding English or A Level equivalents including English

Future prospects

  • For the right person who successfully completes the apprenticeship there may be the opportunity of a permanent position
