An opportunity has arisen within the Bradford Metropolitan District Council Occupational Therapy department. We are a large, supportive, flexible and forward thinking team with a focus on people remaining in their own homes; living as independently as possible with a view to promoting a better quality of life.

A strength-based approach underpins all our work which currently includes:

1. Having personalised conversations with service users, families and professionals at the referral hubs to determine whether an assessment is required, including signposting to voluntary or partner agencies.

2. Providing fast, effective and timely assessments and discharges from our assessment units and hospitals within the district.

2. Providing early help and prevention and reablement using a community led support approach.

3. Provision of equipment including telecare, minor adaptations and major adaptations.

As an Occupational Therapy Assessor, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists on a rotation basis to increase your skills and we have a progression system in place. We believe in the development of our staff and currently we are supporting experienced OTA's to access Apprenticeship money to become qualified members of staff. We work in a range of different settings- First point of Contact, Home Assessment Team, Enablement Team, Clinic and a number of short term assessment units.

We have a positive approach to change and have a flexible and supportive team ethos. We have strong links with NHS colleagues, other MDT professionals and the voluntary sector. We are committed to the development of staff and offer training and development opportunities as well as regular supervision.

When submitting your application, please read the "Information and Guidance for Applicants" and the job profile. Please make reference to the key competencies within the job profile as a minimum requirement for the post.
