We currently have a vacancy for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual who is interested in delivering quality care to a group of patients. We are looking to recruit either an experienced nursing assistant or those with no experience as full training can be provided for the successful candidate to obtain a care certificate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Urgent Care Directorate of Manchester Royal Infirmary offering experience of working at the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) . AMU is a 48 bedded assessment unit with high turn around of patients.

Duties will include providing personal care to patients, including helping with meals for those patients who require assistance, performing observations of blood pressure, pulse and temperature (full training given) and providing all care that the patient and their family require.

In return we offer the apprenticeship programme to support your development.

The apprenticeship programme is fully funded by the Trust and consists of a 12 month programme of intensive training in order to prepare you for the role of Nursing Assistant. On successful completion of the programme you will have attained a level 2 diploma in healthcare support, which consists of achievement of an NVQ (now known as QCF diploma), a BTEC certificate and level 1 or 2 in English and Maths (equivalent to 5 GCSE's).

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction in the first 3 months following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85(enhanced disclosure) If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
