Southern Health is one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health, adult and child community health and learning disabilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 physiotherapist to join our dynamic Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Physiotherapy team within the Havant locality. This post will predominantly be based at Oak Park Community Hospital. The successful applicant will work as part of the wider MSK service which covers a number of locations within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full time post.

The service provides MSK out-patient appointments for GP, Consultant and specialist physiotherapy referrals as well as staff self referrals. Alongside a varied MSK caseload, the successful applicant will have a responsibility of supervision to band 5 staff and students.

Oak Park Community Centre is a modern newly built hospital. There is a well resourced gym within the department and you will work closely with an exercise rehabilitation instructor to develop rehabilitation programmes to best serve appropriate patients. The department also offers a number of group exercise classes that you will have access to and we are working to forge links with the wider community for sign posting options when patients are ready for discharge. We are committed to continued professional development and promoting evidence-based practise to ensure a high standard of care throughout the service. There is an extensive professional development programme aligned against an education document which is in place for all MSK staff. The successful candidate will have regular supervisions with their team lead. We offer a varied local in-service training programme and there will also be opportunity for you to attend Band 6 and Trust-Wide Study days alongside training put on by our specialist colleagues from Solent NHS trust.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust offers an opportunity for band 6 staff to participate in the Orthopaedic Choice and Pain team apprenticeship schemes. The individual will also have access to funding for further development through Southern Health's ACE programme.
