IT Service Analyst Apprentice

At NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), we have a vital mission to save and improve lives. Our medical staff work tirelessly to gather blood, tissue and organs for use in transfusion and transplants. Behind the scenes, our administrative and support staff enable this work with flawless systems, including our exceptional IT capabilities. We're proud to say that our IT systems give our people exactly what they need to do their jobs to a high standard - and that's where you come in.

As an apprentice within this team you will be able to study for a recognised Level 3 Digital Support Service Technician Apprenticeship Programme, whilst gaining valuable skills and work experience within Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS).

As a Service Analyst, you will be ready to handle the resolution of requests and incidents via our service portal, email or phone call from the 7,000 or so people who make up our numbers to ensure our staff are able to do their work more efficiently and effectively. Specifically, you'll receive plenty of training and support to enable you to handle the vast array of tickets that range from gaining access to files, setting up new starters on the system and ensuring staff have the appropriate mobile devices for their work. Recording every ticket accurately, you'll ensure this is completed within SLA. In most instances you'll be able to fulfil this yourself, but for more complex tickets, you'll collaborate with colleagues or service providers to complete the task. With documentation that will guide you through many of these processes, you will benefit from a large team who are keen to share their knowledge, setting you up for a great career trajectory.

As this is an IT related role, we will expect you to be IT savvy with a passion for expanding your knowledge base. Able to work with mobile devices and tablets, you will be keen to develop your understanding of the sector and share our excitement for providing the best possible IT support. With great customer service capabilities, you will have a sharp eye for detail as you will need to accurately log details when communicating with customers. Experience of working in an IT Service Desk or IT Support role would also be a real advantage, and you should demonstrate great interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for helping people. Naturally, you will need to be very organised to ensure all requests are dealt with in a timely manner.

Our service is open between 08:00 and 17:00 so we will expect you to work a shift pattern that covers those hours. In turn, we can offer you a varied and fascinating role in which you'll learn valuable skills. At NHSBT, we support our staff in their ambitions, so if you're keen to benefit from our exceptional training provisions and develop a career, then get in touch today.

The salary is linked to annex 21 at Band 4. This equates to 70% at Band 4 until there are 12 months left on programme, it will then change to 75% of the Band 4 salary.

By submitting your application, you agree for your information to be shared with our training provider; Firebrand and Recruitment.
