Our Commercial function is playing a central role in Jaguar Land Rover’s move to an electric-first, modern luxury business. As part of the radical digitalization of the company’s marketing communications, the development of connected services will create new experiences, new levels of intimacy and an enhanced ownership experience for customers.

Undergraduates in our Commercial function could undertake placements in the following departments:
Our Marketing teams articulate what our brands stand for, working with our PR teams to enhance and promote our brands whilst protecting our heritage, unique brand values and invaluable reputation. A diverse team with a wide range of disciplines, including marketing communications, product planning, digital management, experiential and events.
On this pathway you will be expected to use your creative and commercial skills from day 1. You may be involved in creating campaigns, working with licencing partners, supporting our digital teams, or helping with brand events amongst many other marketing activities.
Our Marketing Communications and PR teams enhance and promote our brands whilst protecting our heritage, unique brand values and invaluable reputation. A team of experts also working closely with our global teams and retailers, creating and deploying campaigns to excite and engage our customers.
As an undergraduate with communications skills and a knowledge of digital and traditional media platforms, you could be involved in a variety of areas including telling brand and business stories across multiple platforms, planning & researching press releases, helping to build our network of brand advocates, and supporting global media events.
Our Commercial Undergraduates are placed into a variety of roles to support our business, enabling them to utilise their creative and commercial skills and gain valuable insights from our teams of experts. We have opportunities across a variety of our teams, including our National Sales Company within the UK, our Overseas regional team (UK based), and our Customer Service teams.
There are several opportunities to join us with exposure to a wide range of responsibilities. You may help to deliver a new commercial proposition through retailers or support with training and development strategies, work with our regional teams to deliver industry-leading sales and customer service or be working with engineering to support our technicians.
Supply Chain & Logistics
The Parts Supply Chain team are part of our Global Customer Service team, responsible for optimising service whilst ensuring a customer first delivery of parts, efficient and effective distribution, and maximum returns. With over 5.4m square feet of Worldwide Warehouse space, 8 parts return centres, and 140,000 active parts numbers, it’s a challenging and fast paced environment working globally to achieve the best outcomes. The team are undergoing a significant transformation with investment in a new Global Distribution Centre.
We strive to ensure that we deliver the right part in the right place at the right time to support our discerning customers. Therefore, you will be a part of making this happen. From working in our systems to ensure schedules for our suppliers are in place to analysing and monitoring the performance of stock and working with our Global Logistics team. You may also support emergency orders requirements to meet customer requirements or support development of Jaguar Land Rover strategic projects, for example new model programs, new & emerging markets and transition projects.

We welcome applications for the different placement opportunities in our Commercial function from students studying the following degrees and on track for a 2:2 or higher:
Marketing – Business or Marketing
Communications – Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Journalism or Media Studies
Commercial – Business, Finance, Economics, Humanities, Social Science or Marketing
Supply Chain – Business or Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering or Mathematics.
So, as well as working towards one of these degrees you’ll need drive, creativity, a keen eye for detail, and a never-ending commitment to delivering results.
Please be aware that our undergraduate placement opportunities are only open to penultimate year students (i.e., students who will be returning to their final year of study following their placement with us).
All our undergraduate programmes have a fixed start date commencing June 20th 2022 and will run for a duration of 12 months.
