Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. We have a CQC rating as good overall and we have some key areas of outstanding practice with an outstanding rating for being well led at every level.

Job Title: Apprentice Clerical Officer

Directorate: Booking Centre

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 08.00am to 5pm. This posts would be based at our Bolton One Booking Centre.

Our Clerical Services team provide a really important service to our clinical teams (such as our Doctors, Nurses and Physios) which help those teams provide the best care to our patients. We have a number of vacancies across all the Clerical Services and we are looking for people like you who put the patient first and want to always do an excellent job.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience within the NHS and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. Reporting directly to the Clerical Services Supervisors/ capacity & demand facilitators, you will work closely with the wider clerical services teams to support a range of services

You will be supported and developed in the role, learning new skills, whilst undertaking the apprenticeship framework in Business Administration or Customer Service from a local training provider. We are committed to giving you the skills you need to be a great success in the role.

As an apprentice you will support your team by carrying out a full range of clerical duties and becoming an expert user of the IT systems and software we use in the Trust. You will provide a friendly and helpful point of contact for queries within your extended team. As with all our staff you will also continually promote a professional corporate image for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

You will be employed on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 to 18 months dependent on the level of qualification being undertaken and are expected to complete the apprenticeship qualification within this time period.
