On 1st February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals became part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust - a truly once-in a generation development. Together, we are taking our first steps towards our vision of creating a brand-new centre of excellence, which will be the global leader in the research into and treatment of heart and lung disease in patients from pre-birth to old age. We are developing some exciting plans and we want you to join us - so come and help to change the shape of healthcare for our heart and lung patients world-wide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our 18 Week Team at our Royal Brompton site. As part of your role you will be responsible for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the Department, while also undertaking a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship.

During the18 months programme you will develop a knowledge of processing data, using tools such as Excel that will enable you to source, format and present data securely for analysis using basic methods. A Data Technician apprentice will be responsible for collecting and processing data under the guidance of a senior colleague or multiple colleagues across the business.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way to develop your skills and knowledge and continue to learn while you earn and complete a recognised qualification. We will offer you continued support with workload and the time and resources you need, with 20% of the job dedicated to delivering the objectives of the course.

Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as word processing and IT skills and have patient care as your primary concern . The successful applicant will be expected to effectively prioritise work and meet challenging deadlines. You will possess excellent keyboard skills, a confident telephone manner and an ability to liaise with patients and staff.

Evidence of numeracy and literacy qualifications is essential. You will need GCSE's or Level 2 Functional Skills qualification.
