St Joseph's Hospice was founded in 1905 by the Religious Sisters of Charity and as such it has a rich, Catholic heritage which informs our work today: to support and welcome those in need, from all different cultures, religions and backgrounds.

We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions across East and North London. We have a large team of clinical staff who work across community, in-patient and out-patient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers.

You will be working as part of the facilities And maintenance team supporting colleagues to ensure all statutory compliance maintenance works are completely safely, carry out reactive maintenance task on our heating /boiler systems, investigating all mechanical / basic electrical faults, carry out risk assessments, Safety Inspections and PEEPs are in place for all reactive maintenance. Provide support to site supervisor/ head of facilities in managing all external subcontractors, provide support and guidance to staff on all reported defects. Working closely with colleagues in the estates and facilities team, and Health & Safety representative and other academic departments, promote a positive and safety culture as best practice. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of carrying reactive maintenance in a live clinical environment / NHS Setting

• Apprenticeship / City & Giles NVQ Certificate (minimum)

• Good working knowledge of plumbing and Heating systems
