A successful produce grower & supplier has an opportunity for a Raw Material Technical Manager to join them.

You will be responsible for managing the intake of potatoes, onions, swede and other vegetables onto the site and for leading and motivating the team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems reporting to the Sales and Production Manager.
Some of the key responsibilities
Managing a Technical Assistant
Checking the quality of vegetables entering the site to ensure they meet processing requirements.
Maintaining records of all goods entering the site.
Managing the on-site fridges and potato storage facility.
Ensuring that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained, and achieved. Involvement in the evaluation of risks and defining controls.
Hosting and managing audits as appropriate, dealing with responses, and closing out any non-compliances as required.
Effectively communicating both internally and externally with customers, suppliers, and the production team to ensure all the technical needs of the business are met.
Ensuring a safe working environment exists for all employees through the implementation of an effective H&S system.
Key qualifications/skills/experience required
A background in food production, agri food or agriculture, and ideally degree qualified in a relevant discipline
Ideally you will have previous experience within a food manufacturing environment in a similar QC position and have the ability to work in a very hands-on environment. Training however will be provided for the right person.
The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate and influence at all levels.
Strong IT & systems skills especially Excel
The ability to prioritise the workload and work effectively under pressure is a must for this position.
Hours of work - Onsite Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour unpaid break. In addition, you may be required to work every third Sunday. However, you will need to be flexible around these days/hours to meet the needs of the business.
