Overview of the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and willing individual to start an apprenticeship with a UK market leader in speciality steels. The role is a combination of Customer Service/Logistics and Despatch. This role is set within a warehouse environment and would involve a small percentage of related duties. Fork lift truck and crane training would be given to the right candidate. This a great opportunity to learn various tasks, build your knowledge, skills and obtain a qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Deal with all customer collections
Control the Export Documentation and communicate with sales and the Admin Department.
Communicate with sales divisions relating to paperwork or delivery issues
Support the despatch co-ordinators and assist with the PGI process or any other admin services
Create delivery notes via data inputting (PGI), prioritising according to customer requirements.
Producing relevant paperwork for all despatches
To retrieve test certificates
Update ZGB LOAD system
Assist with the production of the daily manifest
When necessary work with the despatch operatives and pack orders ready for despatch
Follow the training you received when using any work items given to you
Take reasonable care of your own and other people's health and safety
Co-operate with your employer on health and safety
Tell someone (supervisor or health and safety representative) if you think the work or inadequate precautions are putting anyone's health and safety at serious risk
Support the company with environmental initiatives and any compliance issues
Required Skills & Abilities

The ability to work as part of a team and if necessary on your own initiative
Outstanding organisational skills
The ability to work under pressure
The ability to work and deal with personnel from all levels
Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
Desired Qualifications
GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent in maths and English
Future Prospects
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, the aim is to become a permanent member of the team.
Working Hours & Pay
37 hours a week, Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch and Friday 8am-1pm. However, flexibility is sometimes required to meet the business needs and overtime or changes to daily hours may be necessary.
