Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Business Development Graduate Programme is to provide the opportunity to experience working across a wide range of areas including business development, work winning, marketing and commercial as well as working closely with our client to develop both specialist sector and people skills.

Developing the business development acumen, experience and knowledge to provide effective business development support, and at the end of the programme, they will help you work out how you want to progress your career within Ipsum. As an ambitious and growing company, you could quickly have overall business development responsibility for selected key customers, contracts or geographical regions.

Principal Accountabilities:

*Work with key stakeholders including the Senior Management Team (Inc. BD Director) to develop & execute the business growth strategy.
*Undertake client research to identify new trends, openings and opportunities to build a comprehensive CRM & Opportunity Pipeline database.
*Develop close client interactions in order to strengthen relationships and to identify new work winning opportunities.
*Develop new relationships and identify opportunities with new clients (a hunting & prospecting mindset).
*Produce a monthly client engagement / sales activity plan.
*Demonstration that a diary of focused client activity leads to an increase in relationships / work winning opportunities.
*Design & develop a tendering content support library.
*Design & develop continuous tendering improvement processes and procedures.
*Design & develop tendering storyboarding, quality control & governance sign-off processes & procedures.
*Support tender submissions as required including tender writing tasks & tender presentation enhancement.
*Liaise with tendering stakeholders including business matter experts, capability leads, business leaders and clients to deliver 'best-in-class' bid proposals.
*Management reporting of PQQ & Tendering pipeline, monthly status updates for management and board report submissions.
*Analyse PQQ/Tender submission outcomes and obtain customer feedback to ensure continued business improvements in all submissions.
*Research and implement business systems that can enhance how they manage, maintain and deliver work winning bids more efficiently.
*Co-develop a collaborative 'work winning' culture across the organisation.
*Support in Raising the business profile at industry events, seminars, social media including LinkedIn, Website etc.

These risk assessments shall be recorded in circumstances defined in our client policy and where the individuals deem that it is of value to do so.
*Make sure control measures are in place to minimise the risks to all affected individuals.
*Ensure that details of the risk assessment and control measures are adequately communicated to all affected individuals.
*Personally take appropriate action to address any safety matters which come to your notice.
*Immediately report to your line manager any risk, hazard or shortcoming that may affect your health and safety, or that of colleagues or the public, taking personal ownership.

The Person
Required Qualifications:

*Fluent written and verbal communication in English.
*Graduate or soon to be graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline.

Knowledge & Experience:

*Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
*An understanding of business development/work winning is desirable but not essential.
*Previous sales or commercial experience is desirable but not essential.

As a graduate you will be provided with all relevant training. You will drive your own learning and development with guidance and coaching from your manager and colleagues. You will be supported on your journey towards professional membership of a relevant professional body, for example [X].
