Our client is a not-for-profit organisation that works within a number of areas to improve society, such as Justice, Education, and Employment. They deliver an exciting contract that aims to help ex-offenders to re-integrate back into society and stop them from offending. Working as part of a network of providers, your role will be to work with a caseload of approx. 45 ex-offenders to help them achieve training, education, or employment opportunities.
You will be handed over clients upon release from partner providers who have been preparing them for reintegrating back into society. You will meet with your clients, and after assessing their situation, put in place milestones for them to move towards employment or education. You will meet with clients on a regular basis, each time assisting them with employment support, job searching, and breaking down their barriers to employment. You will work closely with the employer engagement team to move people into sustainable, realistic employment. Taking on board their needs, you may also refer them to partner support providers as needed (i.e. substance misuse or specific mentoring).
Experience of working with offenders is essential. This can be as part of a university placement, paid employment or even as a voluntary position. So people with experience of working within criminal justice, or criminology graduates with some voluntary experience would find this a good fit.
This is an exceptional company to work for and they facilitate career development. They offer 28 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) and a diverse benefits package
