The role

We are now looking for a a formal 36-month Level 4 apprenticeship in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, with a permeant contract. The job holder will be responsible for completing the requirements of the apprenticeship alongside the main role of supporting the Head of Sustainability and Inclusion with the delivery and awareness of the VWUK Sustainability framework, People-Planet-Purpose.

Key accountabilities

Assist in researching emerging themes around carbon (policy, technology, offsetting, national targets, peer group) and the wider sustainability / social value agenda.
Ongoing interrogation and validation of carbon data
Assist with raising awareness of the VWUK Net Zero Carbon framework and helping share best practice from around the business
Support with the annual carbon footprint certification audit
Support data submission for Science Based Targets initiative
Working alongside Procurement to support sub-contractors, plant and materials suppliers in ensuring their awareness of People-Planet-Purpose and to understand their role in achieving our sustainability ambitions
Working with Business Unit representatives to help support current and new client sustainability requirements
Support the delivery of commitments outlined in People-Planet-Purpose across VWUK, including forming part of existing charity and volunteering, school engagement and carbon reduction working groups
Supporting work with influential industry and national bodies (e.g. Council for Sustainable Business, CLC Construct Zero)
Be responsible for administration associated with sustainability meetings including co-ordinating meetings, agendas, minutes and monitoring completion of actions
Administration associated Thrive Education, Volunteering and Social Value portal and providing support to sites / projects
Assist with the administration associated with VWUK energy broker including handling site queries, contract documentation and meetings.Skills & experience

GCSEs Grades A* to C or 9 to 4 under the new grading system in Maths and English (or acceptable equivalent)
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office suiteOther
