Are you an aspiring Primary Teacher seeking your first role in Education?

TimePlan Education are looking for an energetic and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant who loves working with children. The role is a fixed 1-year contract with the hours being 8:30-3:30pm term time only. For the right candidate, this teaching assistant role could be a springboard to the Schools Direct route into teaching. As part of the role there will be opportunities to contribute to planning, lead sessions alongside the class teacher, support small groups within and outside the classroom and work with individual pupils. Therefore, having the personal confidence and capacity to engage in the activities mentioned above, across both key stages is crucial. The role:

  • To work alongside and learn from a talented and supportive team of teachers.
  • To develop teaching techniques and communication skills.
  • To lead 1:1 / small group intervention groups - planning provided that you will adapt to suit learners.
  • To Monitor and track pupil progress.
  • Supporting teachers working with pupils on a 1:1 and group basis.
  • Take on feedback to continually improve your practice.

The candidate:

  • A 2:1 degree from a reputable university
  • Has previous SEN experience or able to use their knowledge to best support students with additional needs.
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with staff, the children and their families.
  • Able to differentiate their practice to meet the needs of the students and adapt their learning styles and areas of need.
