In April 2021 Sirona care and health became the service provider for the inpatient rehabilitation units based at South Bristol Community Hospital. The service oversees 60 community rehabilitation beds for patients recovering from hospital admission and discharged via discharge to assess pathway 2.

The workforce is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of a wide range of health professionals including; GPs, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as other in-reaching allied health professionals and an unregistered workforce.

During their admission the patient is supported with 24hr nursing and care support available, with supplementary input from the other professionals to support the nursing workforce and to predominantly support the patient in recovering from their hospital admission and in regaining their independence to return home where possible.

We are looking for a workforce development team to support the leadership team in developing a rehab focused centre for excellence for rehabilitation and recovery in Bristol.

We are going to undertake a local workforce development programme to consolidate and reinforce the skills and knowledge of our current workforce, which comprises of staff from various backgrounds - and that is where you come in!

We are looking for a workforce development lead and a practitioner to support this programme.

You will be working alongside the local workforce here, support their training and development needs, working through induction and competency programmes and given time each week to work clinically in an exciting and purpose built rehab environment. You will also be given regular protected time to work alongside the corporate Learning and Development team for support and updates on company direction.

The Rehab Units provide a perfect opportunity for workforce development programmes inclusive of internal service training, apprenticeship and return to practice schemes.

The staffing model and facilities lend themselves to regular learning opportunities and support for individuals driven to continue their professional development .

We are looking for a committed and motivated individual, who is compassionate and demonstrates ambition towards a rehabilitation and reablement ethos. Your role will work alongside the unregistered workforce here at South Bristol Rehab Units, supporting them to develop their clinical skills in nursing and therapy.

The post part of a year-long development programme locally at South Bristol Rehab Units, but could progress into a longer term or permanent option.
