Acute Medicine is an integral part of front of house services within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre. The speciality is focused on patients being in the right place first time and has strong links with primary care in an advisory, decision making and supportive role. The team work efficiently and effectively at pace to support early intervention, diagnosis and admission avoidance with the multi-disciplinary team focus. The service is interlinked with other services at the front of house including Accident and Emergency, Frailty and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).

The strategic goals of the front of house are focused on the patient journey and experience which is pivotal in minimising risk and reducing harm. The Acute team are high performing and deliver organisational requirements of a well led service.

This Clinical Sister's position is a career development opportunity for our staff and we welcome applications from any staff members who would like to be part of the Short Stay Unit, Urgent & Emergency Care Team.

We are looking for talented, motivated professional senior staffs who are able to demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills within the clinical setting. As Clinical Sister you will take a proactive approach in assisting the Ward Manager leading the team in the delivery of enhanced holistic services and standards of care to our patients.

As an integral part of the managerial team you will be expected to demonstrate exceptionally diverse communication skills. Have an aptitude for people management and the professional competence to make informed decisions to effectively manage operational and clinical incidents, staffing issues and effective bed utilisation throughout the directorate.

As a central role model with supervisory accountabilities across the ward a key aspect of the role will be the ability to promote a positive, supporting environment which values and supports all team members. Adopting a mentoring outlook you will endorse and take a key lead in the professional development and wellbeing of all members of the multi-professional team.
