Job Title: Apprentice Building Fabric Technician

Location: Great Western Hospital - Swindon,Swindon SN3 6BB

Working Week: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to GBP10 per hour plus benefits & 25 days annual leave

Apprenticeship Qualification:L2 Carpentry and Joinery with progression onto L3 Carpentry and Joinery

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 36 Months

Here at Serco we are looking for a Building Fabric Apprentice to join our Estates Management Team at Great Western Hospital.

We provide a FM contract which includes a variety of Hard FM services including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance of the hospital estate. In addition to this we provide a number of Soft FM services including Housekeeping & domestics, portering and catering.

Key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate a range of fundamental skills including the interpretation of technical specifications and thereafter measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, mitring, scribing, horizontal and vertical levelling, finishing, positioning, and securing. Additionally, carry out first and second fixing.
  • Conduct a broad range of planned maintenance tasks including site surveys in accordance with agreed timescales.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues, including carrying out repairs, fault finding, servicing commissioning and maintenance, seeking to support the return of plant, building services and systems back to being fully operational at the earliest opportunity
