Inpatient facilities are provided from Sunderland Royal Hospital (SRH), South Tyneside District Hospital (STDH), St Benedict's Hospice and from the specialist Sunderland Eye Infirmary. This gives a total of around 1200 acute beds, as well as a state-of-the-art critical care facilities.

Highly Specialist Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity for Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to support the new Long Covid service at South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust. This post will provide rehabilitation support in the assessment and management of patients presenting with Long Covid. The clinic works in full multidisciplinary patient centred approach.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills in the management of patients presenting with Long Covid symptoms e.g. dysfunctional breathing.

Please note the post is fixed term until 31st March 2022, however further funding to extend this post may be available, if further funding is not available for this service you will return to your substantive post if you are applying as a secondment opportunity.

The job operates Monday - Friday normally working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm, but candidates will need to be flexible.

The Trust has an onsite gym and has a Training and Education Centre.

DBS CHARGES

As from 1st November 2020, it is a requirement of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month's pay.
