About our Trust

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East. We have over 6,000 members of staff that are PROUD to Care for nearly one million people. Both hospitals provide full clinical services, including full maternity, emergency and children's, in addition to a range of community-based services across London, such as award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.

We're one of the best preforming Trusts in the country. We're also one of the top trusts to work for - our staff say they're engaged, motivated, and would recommend us as a place to work and receive treatment. Our Trust has been rated by the Care Quality Commission as 'Good' in all five of the main domains of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, giving an us overall rating of 'Good'. We've also been awarded an 'Outstanding' rating for 'use of resources' by an NHS Improvement inspection.

Our vision is to be the No 1 employer nationally, where every member of staff has the best possible experience when working here. We can achieve this when we listen to our staff and act on their feedback. We have an ambitious agenda which is to deliver outstanding care to our patients in a workplace that is dynamic, inclusive, innovative, and demonstrates our PROUD to Care values.

These are both exciting and challenging times for the Trust and our partners, in particular for the people agenda. The organisation is one of the highest performing acute Trusts in the country and has many impressive people metrics - however we still have much to do. The board and the executive team are excited and motivated about us doing more for our people.

The Role

Innovation Lead

We have at least two opportunities to join our expanding Transformation team as an Innovation Lead.

ICHP is a partnership organisation bringing together NHS providers of healthcare services, clinical commissioning groups and leading universities across North West London. We have been designated by NHS England as the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) for North West London, and we are one of 15 AHSNs across England which make up The AHSN Network.

At ICHP we believe that innovation can be a powerful trigger to create new ways of working.

Through working with world leading hospitals, community providers, commissioners and universities, we match health challenges with new innovations. This helps our partners provide the best possible health and care outcomes for North West London's 2.3 million residents.

Our strategic priorities are to:

  • Innovate and collaborate for a healthier population making a real measurable impact; and

  • Diversify our customer base in order to broaden our income sources and work where we can have the largest impact.

Our organisation has a range of talents and experiences, bringing knowledge, skills and experience to the way we connect with our stakeholders.

At a time where collaboration and innovation are crucial to help meet some of healthcare's most pressing challenges, there has never been a better time to join us.

Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be one of our Innovation Leads in our Strategy Directorate. If you have the energy and passion for supporting the NHS deal with some of the most pressing problems it faces post pandemic, then this role is for you.

This role will lead a variety of project teams tasked with translating uncertain problems into service change for the benefit of North West London's residents and beyond. You will be working across a highly complex set of relationships, challenges, and innovations to contribute to service transformation. You will work with NHS organisations, established industry, start-ups, academia and the voluntary sector.

You will be able to think laterally, build strong trusted relationships quickly and contribute to ICHP's culture as a learning organisation, for example by training and developing colleagues. We believe that to make the most impact we need a diversity of experience and background and therefore all backgrounds and experiences are welcome. Therefore, given our current team set-up, we are particularly interested to hear from NHS operational managers and those with experience in agile project management e.g. Scrum.

Interviews will be held on the Mon 1stand Tues 2ndNovember.
