Job Details

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use V alue Based Interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significant difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Therapy team at Oxford Children's Hospital. The Paediatric Therapies department is a diverse, friendly, and enthusiastic team.

We are looking for a highly motivated Physiotherapist with the ability to work with a significant degree of professional autonomy to join our Band 6 Rotation as a 6 month fixed term contract. The candidate will be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of Physiotherapy skill and expertise and be expected to use sound clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist assessment and treatment of Paediatric patients.

The post holder will participate in 8 month rotations across a variety of paediatric specialties covering cystic fibrosis, acute respiratory (including paediatric critical care, neonatal unit and wards), elective orthopaedics, oncology and musculoskeletal outpatients.

There will be opportunities to supervise the clinical placement of physiotherapy students from Oxford Brookes and Coventry Universities. There are excellent opportunities for Continued Professional Development through in-service training, and on-going peer support and clinical supervision.

Successful applicants will have relevant postgraduate experience and will be expected to participate in the on-call and weekend paediatric respiratory service.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust has a world-class reputation for teaching and research. It provides a wide range of general and specialist services as well as playing a central role in the local community. Being based in the city of Oxford, the hospital is easy to reach and has excellent access to London.
