Whether you are a Ward Manager or experienced Nurse looking for the next step in your career, join the highly specialised neurological service, Adderley Green in Stoke-on-Trent as a Unit Manager and help change lives for the better.

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join the team at Adderley Green, which consists of two units. Moorcroft Manor is a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, while Gladstone House is a specialist inpatient unit for people over 65 living with complex dementia.

The service has recently been recognised with Headway accreditation, which demonstrates the benchmark for performance and quality of care provided to people with ABI conditions with inspiring improvements and good outcomes.

With experience from the NHS or private sector, you will lead the team on the Peacock ward, where you will be responsible for the clinical care of all service users and will be responsible for the day-to-day Clinical Governance and Risk Management of the Unit. This will see you promote and maximise the quality of specialist care for those with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI).

As you create rotas 4 weeks in advance to ensure staffing levels are met, you will provide leadership and guidance to clinical staff, acting as a role model within the service to foster a culture of professional development and excellent standards of care, promote positive team building and set priorities, objectives and goals.

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans, which will see you provide ongoing monitoring, support and assessment of service users' physical and physiological needs and will be aware of the effects of prescribed medication.

This role will see you:
  • Promote personal and social skills and leisure activities for all service users.
  • Attend monthly clinical governance meetings.
  • Hold monthly staff meetings and provide minutes for the Clinical Services Manager
  • Identify and evaluate areas for potential service improvement sharing and developing practice
  • Develop and implement strategies to facilitate effective communication pathways


To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • At least 2 years; experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting
  • To be highly organised and a manager who completes
  • A strong desire for change and innovation with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in caring for people who require respiratory support, tracheostomy care and CPAP
