2 x 37.5 hours

We are looking to recruit two full time qualified Anatomical Pathology Technicians holding both the Level 3 and 4 Diplomas in Anatomical Pathology or equivalents (Certificate and Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology) with experience of a wide range of specialised post mortem skills.

Mortuary services for South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust are provided collaboratively between the two Trusts and as part of the role there is the requirement to undertake duties at all hospital sites as required to support service needs, The post holder must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach and will work as part of a cross site team providing a high quality, efficient and coordinated mortuary and bereavement support service to both Trusts and local Coroner's Services.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the mortuary on-call service.

We are looking for a hardworking, flexible and motivated team worker to join a friendly, supportive team. The successful applicant must demonstrate examples of where they have shown good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure. You will be working in a sensitive and emotive environment and must be able to retain a detached professional manner

Core working days are Monday to Friday and you will be required to work flexibly around the needs of the service.

Consideration will be given to an anatomical pathology technician enrolled on the Level4 diploma in Anatomical Pathology. The post would be paid under AfC annex 21 until successful completion of the diploma. Please indicate clearly in your application if you are currently studying for level 4 diploma.

The mortuary service has UKAS Accreditation and is licensed by the HTA.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
