Who are our Field Engineers?
Well internally they’re known as Field Technicians, but they’re the people who dazzle our customers every day, by installing or fixing products in their homes and offering them expert advice. They also provide services to small business customers including shops, offices and homeworkers.

Get close to customers
Got a driving licence? Good! You’re going need it, because you’ll be visiting customers across the region, providing them with a friendly, knowledgeable service and connecting them to what really matters. You will also help grow our business by encouraging customers to get friends and family members to sign up to Virgin Media (we’ll pay you a £50 bonus payment for every new customer that gets referred!).

Supercharge your skills
Learn everything you need to know about installing and repairing our phone, TV and broadband products including how to:

  • Run cables
  • Measure and adjust signal levels
  • Make and change connections
  • Configure state-of-the-art equipment
  • Give customers the lowdown on how their services work

More time for the things you love

Thanks to our fabulous four-day-a-week shift pattern, you’ll get approximately 20 extra days off a year compared to the average full-time job. You’ll work three 10-hour shifts and one 7.5-hour shift each week, including around two out of every three Saturdays.

What we look for

You must be at least 18 years old, in possession of a full UK driving licence and comfortable working at heights. Your health and safety is important to us, so we’d prefer you to live close to the areas you’re responsible for to minimise the amount of driving you have to do.

Other than that, our apprentice opportunities are open to anyone who is tech-savvy, enjoys solving practical problems and can act as a great ambassador for our brand. You definitely do not need to be a recent school or college leaver.

Apprenticeship: Level 2 Telecoms Field Operative

Duration: 15 months (but all our apprenticeships are offered on permanent contracts)
Location: Nationwide (please check your area for our latest vacancies)
Requirements: Full UK driving licence with no more than 8 points (3 points if you’ve had your licence for two years or less).

Salary: £19,000 (rising rapidly to £21,000 then £25,500) + additional £2,500 London Weighting Allowance for eligible locations + amazing benefits.
