We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and Applied Psychologist / Psychological Therapist to Join Durham and Darlington Directorate's Adult Mental Health Services. The candidate will join an established Community Intervention Team, providing clinical services to service users within the team's geographical areas.

The post will play a key role as part of the MDT, as well as contributing to the provision of high quality care to improve service user outcomes. Candidates should have excellent interdisciplinary working skills and be interested in developing and delivering innovative interventions. They will have experience of engaging with individuals suffering from severe mental health problems.

This vacancy is open to either a newly qualified Psychologist / Psychological Therapist or an experienced Psychologist / Psychological Therapist with appropriate Job Description and banding being applied accordingly to the successful candidate.

We provide opportunities for peer support/supervision, CPD, teaching/training, and research / audit in line with strategic developments. There are also strong links to the local Teesside Doctorate programme's as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision.
