Job Details

Make a difference from day one!

Are you forward-thinking, collaborative, and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places to work - if you're looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

Practice Plus Group is the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to prisoners across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach - an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs that are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person's care.

About the role

Patient engagement is key for this role, so you must be comfortable speaking to patients on a 121 and group basis. Ideally, we are therefore looking for someone with confidence, and who has the ability to deal with potentially complex and sensitive situations.

A little bit about you...

We particularly welcome applications from individuals with direct, lived-in, experience of a custodial sentence. You must be willing to work towards a degree-level qualification in operational management, therefore demonstrating a flexible approach to work and study.

To be considered for the apprenticeship you must hold English and Maths at GCSE level C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (certificate evidence will be required).

In return for your hard work, you will receive...

A competitive salary of up to £25,000 - dependent on experience, contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave per annum, increasing with service up to 28 days per year plus Bank Holidays in addition to the supervision, training, and development opportunism.
