Have you ever dreamed of improving your work life balance and furthering your career in Theatres? Come to Cornwall where we have exciting opportunities to lead our CEPOD surgical scrub teams at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

RCHT is a large general hospital with a total of 16 theatres including 4 integrated theatres and one IR suite. We have many specialities including ENT, eyes, vascular, urology, gynaecology, paediatrics and bariatrics as well as CEPOD, trauma and maternity. We are a diverse team who work round the clock to support the community of Cornwall plus all our many visitors.

As a unit we recognise that there is a need to ensure that the peri-operative patients are cared for by a group of professionals that have the appropriate specialist knowledge and skill set to assess, implement and evaluate patients with related care interventions.

Within Anaesthetic, Critical Care and Theatres Care Group (ACCT) at RCHT we have a designated Practice Education Team who are here to support all members of staff with their career development. We are proud to support our staff progress through NVQs and Apprenticeships leading some through to ODP/nurse registration.

The successful candidate will provide a high standard of evidence based clinical leadership and have a substantial theatre experience in a range of specialities. The post holder must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supporting change and service improvement; have excellent communication skills and an ability to work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

We value, nurture and reward our talent and are proud to offer a welcoming and supportive working environment. We promote a culture that promotes a healthy work life balance with opportunities to progress.

Cornwall has miles of stunning coastline, with some of the best beaches and is famous for being the surfing haven in the UK. From wide and sandy with clear turquoise waters to rival those in the Caribbean, to the steep-cliffed, boulder-strewn with wild Atlantic waves crashing, there's every kind of beach going. However, Cornwall is not just beaches. We have picturesque villages, Celtic ruins, ornate gardens and parks making it one of the most beautiful parts of Britain. Cornwall is the home of many events and festivals and with some of the best cafes and restaurants in the South of England. The atmosphere and lifestyle of Cornwall makes it a great place to live and work.

Newquay is a short flight from London, Manchester and Leeds

Come and work for the operating department at Royal Cornwall Hospital in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Why wouldn't you!
