What you will be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity to start an engineering apprenticeship with a team of like-minded people, working on some of the most cutting edge technologies and products offered by Thales UK today. This apprenticeship will suit those candidates who are serious about committing to an apprenticeship of learning and development.
This is a trainee post, which on successful completion, will lead to recognition and classification as skilled personnel.
All trainees will complete a common first year in manufacturing operations which will include work based learning to develop the skills necessary to achieve performance levels in the production of components and assemblies consistent with the required quality standards and the Master Production Schedule.
It is anticipated that during the second and third year, trainees will define their core skills area within the spectrum of manufacturing activities. The skill areas anticipated to be required are Mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and manufacturing machining. Skill definition will be based on trainee performance during their first year, and matched to the business requirements at that time
As a manufacturing apprentice you will successfully complete a number of general engineering training units, working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. For the duration of this three-year programme you will be given two days per week in your first year, and one day a week in your second year to complete your studies with a local college. For the rest of your time you will be working in the business, applying your learning and gaining a breadth of experience across the industry, whilst working towards your Level 3 NVQ qualification.

Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve the qualification.
You will also need:
5 GCSEs grade A-C or Level 5-9, including Maths and English.
Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
