Graduate Engineer Placement (min 1 year)

AIM Composites based in Waterbeach near Cambridge is a full service manufacturing company, excelling in the manufacture of complex composite exterior and interior components, mouldings, sandwich, flat panels and laminates for a multitude of industries such as Aerospace, Marine, Rail and Automotive, and their varied and specific applications.

AIM Composites has a strong focus on production control and quality, with an ethos set deep in lean manufacturing, from engineering and project management through to final release.

The Graduate Engineer would be required to review site equipment, environment and best practices throughout the production departments.

Key Responsibilities

To review site equipment, environment and practices, on Press Board manufacturing process. Monitor and report to understand test variables on board manufacture. Review process, equipment and environmental improvements required to reduce board test failures.

Review all department processes to identify process and equipment improvements.

Production support to review and analyse time taken and materials used against quoted and report on process improvements required.

Review and maintain Engineering KPI's to identify key process failures, root cause and corrective actions.

Create process work instructions to standardise manufacturing processes throughout production.

Key performance measures

Continued reporting identifying process failures and improvements.

Knowledge required

Placement Graduate Engineering Student, Gap year student or post Graduate.

High degree of attention to detail and report presentation.

Well organised to self manage once guided by Engineering on task.

Education

Degree or HND in Engineering - Student, Gap year or post Graduate.

Skills and Competencies

Preferred Engineering Student from field of Composites manufacturing

Competent in MS Office applications

Confident clear communicator
