Clinical Fellow (CT1+) in Immunology

The post is available from November 2021, for a period of 9 months to cover maternity leave.

The post offers the opportunity to join the team of Immunology Department at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This is the largest UK centre specialising in Primary and Secondary Immunodeficiency (PID and SID). The post offers excellent clinical experience in the assessment and management of a complex immunodeficiency. The position would provide valuable experience for a trainee considering a career in Immunology but would also be relevant for other specialties, including Infectious Disease and Respiratory Medicine.

The job will be outpatient based, contributing to specialist Immunology clinics and assessment of patients requiring day case and inpatient investigation or management. The applicant will be expected to contribute to the general running of the service but there is no commitment to routine ward cover and no on call requirement. There will be opportunities to gain experience in specialist clinics, including Chronic Granulomatous Disease, Transition and Young Adult and assessment of PID patients for Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant.

The post is not officially recognised for specialist registrar training but the appointee will not be disadvantaged in terms of training because of this.
