The way Norfolk Adult Social Services is supporting people into employment is changing. As part of seeking to promote people's independence and responding to the Government White Paper, 'Improving Lives: The Future of Work, Health and Disability' we are seeking to transform employment prospects for disabled people and those with long term health conditions over the next 10 years. We are also responding to what people said they wanted, as outlined in the Learning Disability Strategy outlining their expressed desire to be supported to access work. This strategy will also be to assist working age adults with mental health issues and physical disabilities into employment. The service supports the Vision for Norfolk in 2021: Caring for our County, the "Living Well" approach and will be aligned to the NCC Values.

Adult Social Services is looking for an Employment Coordinator to work with the other 4 Employment Coordinators within the new Employment Service, which will also be closely linked with the Preparing for Adult Life Service. You will be part of a new team and be responsible for supporting people into employment and work-related activities.

You will have excellent knowledge of employment legislation and experience of providing information support and guidance of all employment and recruitment matters. You will be able to communicate with a range of people and demonstrate an understanding of the employment problems encountered by adults with disabilities and/or mental health issues and their carers and representatives, to ensure delivery of professional employment advice and support.

There will be the opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and customer focused manner.

If you feel that you have the relevant qualifications, skills and experience, and would be willing to undertake an apprenticeship, and you want to be part of a new and exciting service supporting the people of Norfolk, we would like to hear from you.

All our office-based roles are currently working from home as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and safety of all our colleagues. We anticipate that working remotely will be a key feature of this role and when offices re-open your office base will be County Hall, Norwich.

Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
