Band 7 Practice Development Occupational Therapist for Newham University Hospital

1 WTE / 37.5hrs per week (Permanent)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our senior therapy team at Newham University Hospital. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who is dynamic and proactive with a substantial post graduate experience of effective supervision, clinical education and training, mentoring and assessment skills in acute inpatient clinical specialties with proven leadership skills.

As a Practice Development OT you would will lead Occupational Therapy practice development across the site, provide input into Clinical and Professional networks and support the delivery of our Occupational Therapy recruitment and retention improvement strategy. You will also work at an advanced clinical level carrying a case load, while work with other leads and the Education academy to support and develop the more junior workforce with newly qualified therapists, apprentices, towards their professional development. There is opportunity to collaborate and lead in quality improvement programs with key stakeholders.

The trust has a strong commitment to flexible working, wellbeing at work and staff development via education, training and clinical leadership. You will be supported in your development by an experienced clinical therapist team along with multi-disciplinary Practice development professionals across the trust. The onsite OT Clinical Lead (Band 8a) has a remit to support OT professional development with close working relationships amongst the Barts Health Band 7 peer group. There is a huge opportunity for research and skills development through the Barts Health Education Academy with access to a range of MSC modules with partner HEIs. We actively encourage supervision, CPD and service development and supportive of flexible working patterns.
