North Manchester Care Organisation

North Manchester Care Organisation comprises North Manchester General Hospital and is an organisation steeped in history playing a significant part in the general health and wellbeing of its local community for well over a century.

The teams here are immensely proud of their hospital and continue to focus on providing much needed care for a population who regularly present with varied and complex case mixes, multi-morbidity and socio-economic challenges.

On I5 we treat emergency orthopaedic trauma patients. We have a high number of fragility fracture patients and a dedicated trauma coordination team to expedite surgery and we work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure right care, right place, and right patient. Many of our patients live with dementia and we are looking for nurses who can build relationships with the patients and their families. Working with patients who live with dementia provides opportunities to support the latest thinking in nursing.

You will have the benefit of working in a multi-professional team, so there are endless opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in this field.

You will be required to work flexibly in a changing environment, to be confident and approachable. We are looking for Healthcare Assistant who are compassionate and caring with an ability to focus on the delivery of high calibre patient centred care. A calm, diplomatic and caring approach and a commitment to provide high quality, safe and effective care is essential.

You will need to have (or be committed to working towards):

· Level 2 NVQ/Apprenticeship in Health and Care
· Excellent communication skills - in particular listening skills
· A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
· A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
· The ability to work well in a team

We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction in the first 3 months following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85(enhanced disclosure) If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
