What will the apprentice be doing?
This programme will teach you to use industry standard engineering software packages such as Creo Parametric, Altair HyperMesh, and Ansys.
We will help you learn key engineering design and analysis skills such as calculation of mass properties, limits and fits and understanding of material properties and selection process. You'll see first-hand the application of structural and dynamic analysis techniques learned during your academic studies from experienced colleagues.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Year one you will be at Oaklands College five days per week learning your basic skills.
Year two, three and four you will be on day release to college with your remaining time spent on placements, typically lasting three months. Some placements may be longer to develop specific ME skills.
At the end of this programme you'll achieve a Level 4 HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
