Job Details
Duties
General care of young children
Helping with daily childcare needs and routines as part of a team
Supporting feeding at mealtimes/ bottles etc and nappy changing/potty training
Daily cleaning of the children's rooms and bathroom with other team members
Learning knowledge and understanding of how to meet young children's needs and putting that into practise on a daily basis
Setting up suitable resources/toys for the age of the children and clearing away afterwards. Helping the children learn through play.
Additional information
Being both English and Welsh speaking is an advantage but not essential. We are based in Ruthin so you need to be able to have either your own transport or be able to get here for 8am. (shifts differ but could be 8-5.30 or 8.30-5.45 for example) We are close to the bus stops as very near to Tesco in Ruthin.

We are looking for someone between 17 and 24 who is genuinely looking for a career in childcare. You must be keen and enthusiastic and willing to complete a childcare qualification alongside the hand on work in the nursery. You need to be willing to learn and take instruction well. We need someone with a bubbly person with a cheerful personality as working with children is hard work but children love to have fun!
Qualifications
You need to have decent grades in English and Maths and Welsh would be an advantage. (GCSE level) If you have already completed your Level 2 in Early Years that would be a great advantage and you could complete your level 3 alongside the job. This is basically a learn while you earn job.

Who can apply?

- will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
- will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.
ALS eligibility
Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject
What are the benefits?
How much will I be paid?
You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500.
You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
