What will the apprentice be doing?
• Work with other government departments, e.g. helping develop and maintain relationships on Midlands Engine themes.
• Raise the profile of the Midlands across the Unit and government and increase colleagues' understanding.
• Develop knowledge of the region in order to identify key priorities and keep high level partners informed about progress and new developments.
• 20% of your time will be spent on the Level 4 Policy Officer apprenticeship.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be supported to undertake a Level 4 Policy Officer apprenticeship to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to work in government. During the 18-month apprenticeship programme you will learn how to apply analytical techniques, how to select and present information in a clear and effective manner, how to influence and how to develop partnerships.
As well as the structured apprenticeship programme, additional departmental training and development opportunities are available to the successful candidate

This is a permanent post, subject to six months probation. We will support talented people from all backgrounds to build a career and thrive.
