What you will be doing

You will join the qualified and experienced team that works well together to provide care for people with complex mental health needs within our hospital and community houses. Whether you have been a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or a Care Worker, you will utilise your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team at Three Valleys Hospital, you will support service users as they begin their recovery, transitioning from a hospital setting into assisted community living which focuses on developing life skills, confidence and encourages independent living.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week because of you.

The shift patterns include working nights and weekends, 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.

Duties include:
  • Assistant service users with their day to day activities
  • Contributing to individual recovery journeys
  • Promoting independence and empowerment
  • Writing and updating care plans
  • Promoting activities and supporting service users with in-house and community based rehabilitation
  • The role in our community houses involves independent lone working, medication administration and contributing to CPA's, therefore some previous knowledge and experience is required.

You will need:

  • Commitment to your own development
  • Hold NVQ Level 2 or equivalent GCSE/O Levels and above
  • Previous experience in a care environment, preferably at a senior level
  • Have experience of contributing to care plans and Care Programme Approach (CPA)


Where you will be working

Location:Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven and Cowling, Yorkshire.

We provide support for adult men and women with complex mental health needs who have often been discharged from more secure environments. With 21 beds across 4 community houses and situated in the semi-rural areas of Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven and Cowling, the community houses are ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community.

A driving licence is not essential for the role, but due to the location of the services, please ensure that you are able to commute. Access to your own transport would be advantageous.
