A exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Nursing Assistants to work on the Manchester Vascular Centre in the MRI. The unit is currently open to two inpatient wards, EVC which is an elective vascular ward consisting of 20 beds, and MVC which has 28 in-patient beds. MVC is an acute vascular surgery ward that also offers the opportunity for acute illness management due to the complexity of the patients. You will work on days and nights as part of internal rotation. The successful applicant will be able to work as part of a friendly and caring team on the busy Cardiovascular unit at the MRI site of MFT. You will undertake the role of caring for patients through indirect supervision by a professionally qualified nurse.

At the heart of the ward, you'll form a vital part of the team at the forefront of delivering direct care to our patients by communicating effectively and with compassion and assisting them with their personal needs and mobility, supporting with eating and drinking and recording observations. Don't be daunted by all of this if you're coming with no care experience as a fully supported training programme will be provided for you.

You will need to have (or be committed to working towards):
  • An NVQ in Health and Care
  • Excellent communication skills - in particular listening skills
  • A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
  • A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
  • The ability to work well in a team

Applications are welcome from all areas of healthcare. If you have transferable skills and experience but not the qualifications, we may be able to offer an apprenticeship role to support your development. Please note, this is subject to apprenticeship eligibility checks.

Applicants who are offered an apprenticeship will be paid at £17,051.04 per annum and will progress to Band 2 £18,005 - £19,337 per annum upon successful completion. If you are already qualified you will commence at the bottom of Band 2.

We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction in the first 3 months following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85(enhanced disclosure) If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
