We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women's Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:
  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider.

Workforce Programme Manager

The Workforce Programme Management Office is rapidly building a strong reputation as an internal service that can drive transformation and change through robust tried and tested approaches to project management, appropriate resource allocation and tracking of deliverables and outcomes to ensure programme success. Through a small but highly skilled team, the Workforce Programme Management Office is delivering high impact change and transformation that is sustainable and embeds approaches to continuous improvement across the Corporate Workforce Directorate.

The Workforce Programme Manager plays a vital role in having the relationships, Directorate knowledge and awareness, and an ability to appropriately commission work into the Programme Management Office for maximum impact and sustainability of change and / or transformation. The post holder therefore will be responsible for leading the team through a wide variety of programmes focusing on stakeholder relationship management, robust governance, and transparent reporting of delivery. The focus for the 12-month period will be to build on the foundations laid to enable a strong internal team to consult on delivery and transformation, embedding the offer, and demonstrating continued success.

About you

The post holder will sit within the Corporate Workforce Directorate, spanning a wide range of transactional and transformative services from Payroll and Recruitment to Apprenticeships and Organisational Development.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and pick up a portfolio of projects, create relationships internally and externally and manage the Programme Management Office so that it can expand and deliver value across the Directorate.

Already an established change / transformation leader, with a track record of delivery in the NHS, you will have experience of leading and managing a team to deliver against commissioned objectives, advising on programme management approaches and developing new ways of working. This is as much a strategic role as it is one of delivery and therefore you will be instrumental in working across teams to utilise insights and identify opportunities to enhance the workforce offer for the Trust.

Experience in delivery is just one part of who you are, above all it will be your energy, innovative thinking, aligned values and desire to make a difference that will make you stand out. If this sounds like you, please get in touch we would love to hear from you.
