The Role:

We currently have a long-term placement for a Band 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Persistent Pain experience at Kingsway Health Centre, Hertfordshire Community Trust, specifically providing the following:
  • Support and enhance the work of the multi-disciplinary team providing a highly specialist service to people with persistent pain
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy for people with complex pain presentations
  • Interpret and apply advanced evidence-based theoretical and clinical information from the highly specialist fields of Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology to the highly complex assessment, formulation and management of people with persistent pain

To apply for this post, you will:
  • Chartered Clinical Psychologist status, formal training and accreditation to Doctoral level in Clinical Psychology or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment across the full range of service settings including out-patient, community, primary care and in-patient settings
  • Ability to formulate clients' presenting difficulties within a complex theoretical framework, to plan and deliver an appropriate treatment intervention and to evaluate the efficacy and outcome of treatment
