Make a difference from day one at HMP Five Wells!

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Do you want to be part of healthcare team where every day is different?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you're looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

HMP Five Wells is a new establishment built in 2020 that will begin receiving patients from January 2022. It is a Category C resettlement men's prison which will have an operational capacity of 1,680 by November 2022. HMP Five Wells is based in Wellingborough in Northamptonshire. It is approximately 30 minutes from Bedford, 20 minutes from Northampton and 35 minutes north of Milton Keynes by car.

Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract at HMP Five Wells and will begin delivering services in January 2022. We are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach - an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/well being factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person's care.

In return for your hard work you will...

We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So we offer a salary of £25,000 per annum, with 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days with service, plus 8 public bank holidays and opportunity to join our pension scheme. We also offer other benefits including free uniform, great learning and development opportunities (including apprenticeship opportunities for individuals aspiring to be Pharmacy Technicians), cycle to work scheme, lots of shopping discounts (and we are recognised by Blue Light) and free tea and coffee!
