An excellent opportunity has come available for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer situated within South Yorkshire area that wants to gain experience within both ground investigation and geotechnical/geo-environmental reporting as well as geotechnical design. This is a Graduate Geotechnical Engineering role that offers an excellent training and development program, giving you exposure in managing projects from inception through to completion on a range of large-scale brownfield development projects for a range of sectors.
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, your role will consist of site, office and home working. Typical responsibilities include sites to carry out walkovers, trial pitting, soakaway testing, supervising borehole investigations, verification of capping, gas monitoring etc. Preparing Phase 1 and 2 geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation reports. Liaising with clients, regulators, site staff and other staff within the company.
You will also be developed on the Geotechnical design side including foundations, retaining walls, piles and slopes.
What you will need to progress as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer:
Geology related degree and ideally obtaining an Engineering Geology MSc.
I will consider a fresh graduate but if you have 0-2 years' experience within a geo related consultancy or within a GI contractor, this will be beneficial (but not essential).
Knowledge of Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations.
Passion for Geology and all things in the ground!
