Job description  

We are excited to offer this opportunity at a time when our business is currently expanding premises. You can help be an important part in our transitional phase as we look to provide our high-end products and service to more clients.

This job opportunity will require you to work as part of an experienced team, assisting customers face to face and over the phone, to achieve the highest level of customer service.

During the apprenticeship, you will be assisting with our tailoring service by taking orders for alterations and repairs, whilst maintaining the shop floor, in relation to sales, you will also develop the skills for measuring clients for their bespoke garments.
Additionally, we want you to assist our tailor with certain minor alterations.

We will show you how to operate our industrial machinery and how to carry out the alterations. During your time here, we expect that you will develop an understanding of business processes and sales terminology/figures.

As an apprentice you will be included on a L2 Retailer apprenticeship standard with Babcock Training. This will involve one to one training with a Regional Trainer who will meet with you on a regular basis.

 Whilst on the apprenticeship you will be entitled to an NUS card https://www.apprenticeextra.co.uk/

37.5 hours over a 5 day working week and you’ll be expected to work Saturday and Sunday.

Future Prospects  

At the end of finishing your apprenticeship,  a full-time role will be offered provided you have shown us that you have the desirable attitude and skills, and completed your apprenticeship successfully.

Skills required  

We are looking for a well-presented and professional retail customer assistant, who is enthusiastic about joining an experienced team.

Customer service experience either face to face or over the phone is preferred but not necessary.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and someone who is able to provide excellent customer service

Qualifications required  

None required for this role however Maths And English GCSES or equivalents are an advantage.

Things to consider  

Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship Standard

Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentice’s chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role. Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of 1-1 training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
